i thought i would start a topic about local shelters and rescues in your area. or that you know of. since not alot of people think of them when they are searching for the new family member but it is one of the good places to find designer breeds, or mix breeds that you are looking for.
are designer breeds a new type of breed. No they are just a mix breed that some people but a label on such as rare or designer breed. please read about the each breed before you buy.

if you google spca in ur area you will find probably a few in areas near by also googling a certian breed rescues you will also find few you might have to travel but they are there, and more then willing to help you find your next family member.
but please remeber that animals are a life long thing and should not be tossed aside just cause you have childern or they arent cute little puppy any more.
please feel free to add any rescues that you know about.
also people talk to your local shelter n city hall if you are buying from a rescues also ask ppl on animal forums if theyhave heard about a the rescue and their thoughts.
